My topic is Music/Band Photography. I chose this topic because I decided to combine my two favorite things: music and photography. I want to be a photographer and I haven't decided on a personal style of photography for my career yet, and this is definitely a style I'm interested in researching for the year. This will consist of live concert photographs and maybe some photo shoots of bands. Concert Photography is one of the most challenging styles of photography because of the constant movement by the performers and the dim lighting in venues.
When the going gets tough and I feel like giving up I'm going to remind myself what I want to come out of this project: I want to improve my photography skills along with developing my college-entry portfolio for art schools. It is very difficult to take live shots because of the quick movements and bad lighting so I'm planning on studying the ways that I can take the best photographs in these conditions.
Sierrah- It sounds like you are really on the right track here. Have you started your portfolio yet at all? What are your plans for college in the next year?
