- For my independent component I was planning on practicing and getting ready for a competition. There are many different things you have to do to ensure that you are ready for the competition, and if you are not mistakes can be made at the show. I would chart all of the different styles of practice that I had to do, then I would state why I think they were beneficial for my competition. I would do this for 20 hours then for 10 hours I would watch many videos of the top competitors that I can learn from. I will also be taking videos of myself during my practice sessions to see what I need to improve on.
- This is a worthwhile use of 30 hours because I would be watching videos of the best positions and riding styles and I would be trying to mimic them in my own riding. This is proven as one of the best ways for a competitive rider to improve over time.
- This will help me answer my EQ because I will also be doing research in the process of watching the videos of the top competitors. I will be considering in each video why I think the rider is having a successful round, which means that I also will be noting what the rider is doing right. Throughout all of the videos I will start to see a pattern, and this will help me develop my answer. When I go to ride, it will be like a scientist testing his hypothesis. I will try all of the techniques that seem to be working for the other riders.
Sounds good...just make sure to document accordingly.
