Independent Study 1

  1. I logged, researched, and watched various riders on 11/18, 11/24, 11/25,  12/1, 12/5, 12/11, 12/12, 12/18, 12/19, 12/23, 12/26, 12/31, 1/1, 1/2, 1/9, 1/15, 1/29, 1/30, 2/5.
  2. LIA:
  • I, Sierrah Gonzalez, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
  • I logged many of the times I rode and what I learned from each lesson. I also watched various videos and live rides and critiqued the rider's style.
  • Every ride that I have logged counts for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Some of the rides logged are 2 hours because I have ridden two horses that day. I feel that this work was significant because it helped me prepare for the upcoming show season. The riders that I watched are all great athletes and I watched them because I thought that I could learn something from them.
  • I think that my Independent Component is essential in answering my EQ because I have learned what it takes to have a successful round in the show ring. I also got the opportunity to put my many rides to the test on 1/29, when I started off this show year.

  1. This sounds good. I would really like to see some pictures posted of the rides that you evaluated or maybe a link to the video that you saw. Also, I don't have a clear idea of time...probably because I don't know the discipline, but I also don't see the time marked clearly.
